If Montiguard incorrectly marks a legitimate message as spam, you can help us improve our system by reporting it. Reporting can only be done via email.

Why Report False Positives?

By reporting messages that were wrongly categorized as spam, you help train our AI models to better distinguish between legitimate and fraudulent messages. Your help is greatly appreciated and contributes to protecting all users.

Prerequisites

  • Access to email on your device
  • The suspicious message you want to report

How to Report

1

Anonymize the Message

Before reporting, please remove any sensitive information from the message to protect your privacy:

  • Remove card data (card numbers, expiration dates, CVV)
  • Remove personal data (names, addresses, phone numbers, account numbers)
  • Keep the core message content that makes it suspicious

How to Anonymize Messages for Reporting

Let's say, for example, this bank message was wrongly identified as spam:

From: Your Bank

We blocked an attempted transaction of £250.00 at Amazon.com using your card ending in 1234. No funds were deducted.

If this was you, reply YES to allow the transaction. If not, reply NO or contact us.

Here is how you can report it

To protect your privacy, remove or replace sensitive details such as amounts, card numbers, and sender names before reporting.

From: [Bank Name]

We blocked an attempted transaction of [amount] at [merchant] using your card ending in [last 4 digits]. No funds were deducted.

If this was you, reply YES to allow the transaction. If not, reply NO or contact us.

Changes made: Replaced specific amount (£250.00 → [amount]), card ending (1234 → [last 4 digits]), merchant (Amazon.com → [merchant]), and sender (Your Bank → [Bank Name]).

What Happens Next?

Once you send the report, our team will review the message and use it to improve Montiguard's filtering algorithms. We may contact you if we need additional information, but we won't share your personal details.

Troubleshooting

The mailto link doesn't work

If clicking the link doesn't open your email client, you can manually send an email to support@montiguard.com with the subject "Spam Message Report" and include the anonymized message in the body.

I'm not sure if a message is spam

If you're unsure, it's better to report it anyway. Our team will determine if it's a false positive or genuine spam. Reporting helps us refine our detection.
